چکیده

In the present paper, impact of small Fermi energy on selected parameters superconducting state in Ba$_{1-x}$K$_{x}$BiO$_{3}$ (BKBO) is studied at $x \in (0.3, 0.4, 0.5)$. This done by employing adiabatic and non-adiabatic Eliashberg equations context available experimental data. It found that retardation, strong-coupling effects notably influence phase BKBO. particular, electron-electron interaction, approximated here Coulomb pseudopotential, argued to be reduced supplement retardation allow for phonon-mediated superconductivity. These findings are reinforced further analysis isotope effect showing reduction coefficient with respect canonical Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer (BCS) level, as caused interplay all mentioned above. Although physics behind appears complex, its resulting behavior comply scenario conventional superconductors. summary, obtained results confirm recent theoretical studies suggest mechanism superconductivity However, they also point out this cannot properly described BCS theory due existence somewhat unusual effects.

The Next Breakthrough in Phonon-Mediated Superconductivity

If history teaches us anything, it is that the next breakthrough in superconductivity will not be the result of surveying the history of past breakthroughs, as they have almost always been a matter of serendipity resulting from undirected exploration into new materials. Still, there is reason to reflect on recent advances, work toward higher Tc of even an incremental nature, and recognize that ...

Phonon-mediated superconductivity in graphene by lithium deposition

Graphene1 is the physical realization of many fundamental concepts and phenomena in solid-state physics2. However, in the list of graphene’s many remarkable properties3–6, superconductivity is notably absent. If it were possible to find a way to induce superconductivity, it could improve the performance and enable more efficient integration of a variety of promising device concepts including na...

Phonon Anomalies Induced by Superconductivity

We calculate the electronic polarizability in the superconducting state near extremum vectors ~ Q0 of the Fermi surface. A pole appears in the polarizability at frequencies ω near the superconducting gap 2∆ which leads to a sharp peak at ω just below 2∆ in the lattice vibrations near ~ Q0. A second order transition to a charge density wave state below the superconducting transition is shown to ...

d - wave nonadiabatic superconductivity

The inclusion of nonadiabatic corrections to the electron-phonon interaction leads to a strong momentum dependence in the generalized Eliashberg equations beyond Migdal's limit. For a s-wave symmetry of the order parameter, this induced momentum dependence leads to an enhancement of Tc when small momentum transfer is dominant. Here we study how the d-wave symmetry affects the above behavior. We...

Extending the theory of phonon-mediated superconductivity in quasi-2D

I present results from an extended Migdal–Eliashberg theory of electron-phonon interactions and superconductivity. The history of the electron-phonon problem is introduced, and then study of the intermediate parameter regime is justified from the energy scales in the cuprate superconductors. The Holstein model is detailed, and limiting cases are examined to demonstrate the need for an extended ...
